Marketing headlines of the week

Raycast Focus, Bored Letter, Zenblog

Hey there!

Welcome back to H1 Gallerya collection of the best marketing headlines on the internet.

I’m thinking about including my other newsletter and my thoughts behind the two headlines I’ve used to grow to 14,000+ subscribers next week. Yay or nay?

Raycast Focus's marketing headline "Less chaos, more focus" is a vague yet effective message.

Part of the reason why this H1 works is that it isn't Raycast's core offering. If you've stumbled across Raycast Focus, you're probably already familiar with Raycast.

The contrasting structure of "less X, more Y" creates a clear before & after scenario that immediately communicates the transformation Raycast Focus promise of staying in flow by blocking distracting apps and websites.

"Chaos" resonates with users overwhelmed by digital distractions while "focus" represents the desired state they're trying to achieve. We've all been here.

The brevity mirrors the tool's purpose — cutting through noise to achieve clarity.

Overall, this marketing headline effectively promises a transformation from a problematic state (chaos) to a much more desired one (focus) while using a simple structure that is easy to understand and visualize.

Bored Letter's marketing headline "Turn ambition into opportunity." is a clever and effective message for a personalized cover letter tool.

The use of "ambition" speaks directly to a job seekers mindset. It acknowledges that behind every cover letter is career ambition and dream, elevating the tool beyond simple writing assistance.

"Turn... into opportunity" cleverly captures what a cover letter actually does — it transforms your qualifications into job opportunities by convincing potential employers of your value.

The abstract nature of "ambition" and "opportunity" actually works in its favor here, as it speaks to the universal experience of job seeking while implying that Bored Letter can help bridge the gap between aspiration and getting that desired role.

Overall, this headline effectively positions Bored Letter not just as a writing tool but as a facilitator of new career opportunities. While subtle, it captures the true purpose of a cover letter — turning your ambitions into a new career.

Zenblog's marketing headline "The hassle-free blogging CMS for growing businesses" is a clear and targeted message in a crowded competitive landscape.

The term "hassle-free" immediately addresses a pain point — that many CMS platforms are complicated or filled with countless (and often unneeded) features. It promises simplicity without sacrificing functionality.

By specifying "growing businesses" the headline clearly identifies its target audience. This focus helps potential users immediately recognize if the product is for them.

In Zenblog's words:

When I created this headline and caption, I wanted to emphasize how Zenblog makes blogging easier for growing businesses.

I chose "hassle-free" deliberately in the headline since I know managing a blog can be a real pain point as companies scale. In the caption, I referenced Notion because most people immediately understand what that means for the writing experience - it's familiar and intuitive. I paired that with mentioning the headless API to show that while it's simple to use, it still has the technical capabilities developers need.

I was aiming to speak to both business users and technical teams in just these few words. The business side gets the promise of simplicity, while developers understand they'll have the flexibility of a headless system.
